Worship A to Z: A Playlist

Several months ago I began playing worship music in the morning while getting dressed, helping the kids with breakfast, and before starting my Bible reading. I’ve found starting the morning with worship music sets the tone for the entire day and helps me focus on Jesus before starting the day.

So, when my friend Joy asked about creating a worship playlist to coincide with the topics in Pray A to Z: A Practical Guide to Pray for Your Community, I was so excited! I’ll let her share what she has created for you:

In times of rich spirit-led worship, I find myself praying and crying out to God. In times of intimate intercession, I hear songs of praise and pleading. So, it’s no wonder that while reading and praying through Amelia’s beautiful book Pray A to Z, I found myself regularly turning to worship music to enhance and complement my prayer time.

Sometimes, the Lord was so faithful and prompt a song that fit with that exact topic that I was praying for. Eventually, I began to seek out those corresponding songs and topics, and listen, pray, and journal my heart in tune with God’s heart. I thought perhaps others may experience prayer the same way, so I approached Amelia about a blog post with this idea. She loved it. So here’s a list of songs to help connect your prayers to worship. I’ve also included a Spotify playlist to stream and enjoy.

Each topic doesn’t have a specific song, and sometimes there may be more than one song per topic. I’ll just say it was a bit easier to find worship songs on the love of God than it was bankruptcy. I’ve also included some instrumental tracks, which I hope you find inspiring and uplifting as well.”
