Happy birthday to ME! The kids woke up at 6:20 just to tell me how much they love me. And that he needed a diaper change. And that she was hungry. Somehow, I managed to convince them that if they were going to wake me up that early they needed to give me my birthday present. whoo-haha. They (with the Narrator’s help) picked out a very nice, good-sized jewelry box. I can’t wait to put my treasures in it!
And now let the fun begin!

Mom says
Happy Birthday Sweetheart! Remember the day you were born as if it was yesterday! Somehow a mother never forgets. What joy you brought into our lives from that day forth. I think you were what kept me from losing my sanity. All those many miles from home and family. There were no cellphones back then and no e-mails either. What a high tech world we live in these days where no one is very far from anyone else. Even when they are half way around the world from each other. Sorry you have to wait for snail mail to get your present from us. 🙁 Hope you enjoy your day and your special dinner out tonight. Love You!!!

Dad says
Happy Birthday daughter. I remember the day as if it were yesterday. Grandpa R. and Grandma L. were there for the birth of their first grandchild. The next morning I called your Grandma and Grandpa back in the states. All we could afford was a three minute phone call. At the end of three minutes the phone would be cut off so I didn’t have much time. It took the operator about 15 minutes to get me connected. I told your Grandpa I only have three minutes so I have to go fast. It’s a Girl her name is StoryGirl, weight, length time. On the other end, “OK hang on a minute while I get mom”. Grandma,”So you had a girl, yes you have a granddau….. phone goes dead. The last 31 years went as fast as that three minute phone call. And that three minute phone call cost more than the bill the U.S. Army charged me for your birth. Or to make it a more current comparison, last month’s AT&T phone bill was cheaper than that three minute call.

Thank you, thank you all!! I had a FUN day and I am stuffed to the gills (lol) with SHRIMP! With enough leftover for lunch tomorrow (on purpose). I will share my birthday loot soon. I want to take pictures first though.
Ok, Dad, I don’t remember ever hearing that story before, and your commentary made me and the Narrator LAUGH OUT LOUD. And now you have confirmed why I am a story teller. That was great.
And Mom, are you sure I kept you from losing your sanity or did I cause INsanity? Not that I think you are insane, but I know I was quite the precocious little thing!!

Jewelry box–nice gift! Waking up in the sixes…not so much of a gift, but if that only happens once a year, then it’s OK, right? Happy Happy Day!
Story Girl says
Oh Jenna how I wish waking up in the sixes only happened on my birthday!! I think God was laughing and said “I’m going to give this night owl two little early birds!” Yes, yes, I’m going to bed!! It was a very fun day nevertheless and we had fun filling the jewelry box!
Mom says
